When we study the Spanish olders’ self-perceived health and we stratify by age, we find:

Self-rated health is positive related to the educational level, although income level is not relevant for people aged 80 and over.

The gender health gap is not significant at the early stage of ageing but it widens progressively for the oldest older.

Spanish adults aged 80 and older refer worse health when they live with a partner. This fact could be related to the need for home care for dependent partners.
